We have been so busy lately! Seems like we have hardly been home in the last month. Luckily August is a pretty boring month for us so I should be able to catch up on blogging!
Almost 2 weekends ago already (wow!), my parents, Justin, and I headed to Dallas for a long weekend. I was very excited for this trip because 1) Dallas is one of my favorite places and 2) Justin had never been to a Rangers game! We got to do several different things while we were there and plenty of shopping.
We drove down on Saturday morning and got there about 1:30 in the afternoon. We made a pit stop in Frisco to spend some time at Sam Moon and IKEA! None of us had been to an IKEA before so that was a trip in itself... the place is HUGE! Like you think it's going to be over soon and you still have like an hour left in your journey. We got some cool goodies there, found a new bed too but they wouldn't ship to Arkansas! After Frisco we continued our drive to the Dallas area where we made another stop at Northpark Center Mall. We spent a little while there too.
Sunday morning we got up and headed to Rangers Stadium where we got to do a tour! We were able to go in some of the coolest places. Below Justin and I are in the press boxes above home base.
We got to go in the press room, Rangers batting cages, and in the home dugout. We weren't able to get on the field since the field crew was out preparing for Monday's game but we try to get as close to being on the field as possible.. ;-)
Us sitting on the manager, Ron Washington's chair in the dugout!
After we finished the baseball tour we headed across the street - literally - to Cowboys Stadium and got to tour there too! You start in the pro shop and head upstairs where you walk to the edge and this is the first view you get...
Justin was in complete aw at this point already. He had been waiting for this all week, seriously.
50 yard line, middle of the infamous star.
When you go on the tour you are allowed to bring a football and play on the field for as long as you want (well until they close for the day). We ended up spending about 3.5 hours here alone... no joke. Between doing the tour and my dad and Justin playing catch and kicking field goals, we were there for quite a while. So this is what my mom and I did...
Field entrance to and from the Cowboys locker room. There is another one on the other end of the endzone for the entrance to and from the Cheerleaders locker room.
Cheerleaders locker room! It was so big and so cool! Lots of mirrors everywhere. Each of the girls have a huge poster with their name above their dressing area.
Inside the Cowboys locker room. It was also very nice and very big. These 3 are right beside each other. We also got a picture of Felix Jones' locker but I didn't post that one.
Monday we headed to Grapevine where we did some more shopping at Grapevine Mills while the guys went to see a movie in the theater at the mall. They went and saw the Batman movie so that gave my mom and I a good 3 hours to do the shopping we wanted to. Monday evening we headed to the main event of the weekend - the Rangers/Red Sox game! We arrived 2 hours before the game to check out the stadium and try to get some autographs/photos. I much rather opt for photos! We stood along the 1st base line with tons of other people and a few players finally came out and did some signing. This is Yu Darvish, he is one of their best pitchers. And this is really how close I am to him.
Once the game started. We had some really great seats.
Baseball time! If you see on the very right edge of the photo, right above the Texas logo on the field.. that's Nolan Ryan in the red shirt.
And us after the game. The Rangers won 9-1! It was a great game and we even got to see the Rangers hit a home run! Go Rangers!

This looks like such a fun trip! I would LOVE to go to IKEA. I just wouldn't want to haul a trailer with me!
