Beginning of Busy Season!

Today marks the beginning of some very busy weeks for the next 2.5-3 months! As of this evening, Justin and I will have 11-12 kids. By kids I mean Justin is coaching a 9 & 10 yr old baseball team and tonight is the draft. Tomorrow starts our evening of calling all the kiddos and letting them know they're on our team and when our first initial meeting and practice will be! I am so excited to be a part of this! I think we are going to have such a great time. So from this week until the the beginning of June we will have our hands full with little league practice and games!





This past Saturday were "tryouts" (more like a skills day). Every kid that signs up gets put on a team and gets playing time so that's why it's more like a skills day. Each kid is given a score between 1-5 on their hitting, fielding, and throwing. Then, just like any other draft, the coaches will meet and have their list of top {10} for example, kids they would like to have. So when Justin gets home tonight I will find out all their names! I went to watch tryouts on Saturday so I have my mental notes of names who I liked and who I thought had some good potential. Tomorrow evening we will call parents and Thursday (as of right now) is our plan to have our first practice. That leads me too-- who in the world knew that finding a practice field would be so hard!! Years ago you could drive around and see open fields with backstops on them almost anywhere! I literally think I called about 20-25 places to see if we could use their ball fields or just open property! I am still in the works of finalizing some plans for a location, but I am hoping this one works out!! Needless to say, I have to know by today!





This is an exciting new chapter starting and I think we are going to have so much fun with it!
