Something old, Something new

For those of you that don't know, I have been growing my hair out since my senior year in high school. I had always wanted long hair and on top of that I wanted to have long hair by the time the wedding came around, really so it would be able to be put all the way up.

This is the longest my hair has ever been-

I thought I would add a picture of mom here.. :-)

Well, yesterday I decided it's time to cut it. I went in having something completely different in mind.. I only wanted to cut a few inches off and get rid of some dead ends. It went a little different than that... instead I donated 8 inches of hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths!

The ladies in the salon were incredibly supportive of it and kept telling me what a wonderful thing I as doing and how sweet my decision was.

It's weird to think or even talk about someone else having MY hair. But I truly hope someone who is suffering from or surviving and recovering from cancer and it's treatments can really enjoy a new wig.

And here I am now!!

Like I said, it is shorter than I initially thought it was going to be as I walked in, but it is still a very decent length and I feel SO much better. As my heart was racing before she made the first snip I told myself.. there are way too many people/ladies out there that have lost their hair due to cancer but I still have mine and no matter how short I cut it, it will grow back. I am incredibly happy with my decision and so thankful for the support of the ladies at the salon! I hope someone thoroughly enjoys their new hair!

Good for you! I donated to Pantene and was paranoid they never got my 11 inches, but a few months later I got a letter saying thanks. It makes you feel so good!
