My mom and I decided to stay over at mine and Justin's house so that we would be able to wake up early and get the garage sale started rather than have to drive over to the house early that morning. So we stayed in the guest bedroom.. and tossed...and turned. I finally got up and went to lay down on the floor in the office where I finally fell asleep but only for about 45 minute incremets.
Saturday... Finally I heard the alarm go off at 6am and was thinking that was the end of that horrible nightmare, but it had only just begun. We get up, get ready, and set the garage sale up. Within 5-7 minutes of getting EVERYTHING set up and the cars moved, in came the hurricane! Incredible wind, sideways rain, and eventually hail with both of our vehicles parked down the road and around the corner. My mom and I moved very quickly to get everything we had just put up, torn back down so we could get the cars back into the garage before the hail really did some damage. We run from the house, get down the driveway and I round the corner just to check behind me for my mom as I see her on the ground. Soaking wet. It felt like she sat there for 2 minutes trying to figure out what just happened.. time slowed waaay down. Once she got up and I tried to check on her to see if she was ok, we begin running towards the cars again as I lose one of my sandals. I decided to just leave it there and finish my journey to the car. Finally we made it to the cars and she got one and I got the other and made it back to the house. From there I just looked at my soaking mother and said "Let's go home". I was basically dead the whole day from not sleeping well that night and from the disasterous morning we had. I tried to sleep as much as I could that day. Of all the short weekends that was by far the longest weekend of my life. It has just been ridiculous with the amount of rain we have gotten in the last several days.
Sunday... we went to church in all the nasty weather and then my grandparents came over and joined us for an Easter lunch. After that I crashed again and tried to sleep for a little bit. We basically tried to stay inside as much as possible just because of the weather and everything else. Thankfully that weekend has now passed us and I would really enjoy it if this week was over as well. Work has been insane with all the weather and not to mention these last few exams for the semester that I really wish were done! Just a couple more days until May.. WooHoo!!!
